100 Years at the Ridge

100 Years at the Ridge

So here we stand after 100 years of ministry. Every day we can pick up the paper or turn of the radio or television and hear, see, or read about out world. We at Vimy Ridge have a ringside seat to watch as the world turns upside down. What enormous challenges and opportunities stretch out before us.

Before us is the most important time in the history of man. A period of amazing technological innovation, unprecedented economic opportunity, and great cultural changes.

What does it mean for us? It means that change is happening at a pace that is accelerating every day. What used to take decades to accomplish now takes a year or two, what used to take a year now can be done in a month, what used to take a month now takes only a day. We do live in amazing times.

The world is changing all around us and we can do nothing to stop that. So, we can do one of two things; (1) do nothing at al land sit and watch , or (2) We can get out of the boat and make a difference in someone else’s life.

We have completed 100 years at “The Ridge”. What will we do with the next 100? What does the future hold for us? What direction will we take? What kind of church will we be in the next 10 years? As the world changes around us do we change with it or stay with what God says?

Over the past 20 years we have seen tremendous changes in our facilities and our ability to reach outside these walls. God has blessed this church family unbelievably, Both Financially and more importantly , Spiritually. He has place us in a unique position. We have great facilities, and we are debt free. I don’t believe this is by accident. I believe it has been divine intervention.. I believe He has placed us in this position so that we can concentrate on ministry and not on payments, as so many churches must do.

So, what will we do? Do we stay with time proven God given Biblical Doctrine or do we change into an entertainment venue to appease the desires of the “new age”? I vote that we stay the course with God’s Word. That we get out of the boat and fulfill the Great Commission that our Lord and Savior told us to do. (Matthew 28:18-20)

We are engaged in a great spiritual war, but I read the end of The Book, and WE WIN!!! God has BIG PLANS for “The "Ridge”. I look forward with eager anticipation to what He has planned.

When God is leading Make No Small Plans…..
